Somewhere in Time Podcast welcome Brad Divens back to the podcast to discuss the debut, self-titled album from Souls at Zero, as well as the 1994 EP, “Six-T-Six”. Brad contributed bass guitar and vocals to both these albums, as well as helped produce them (along with the rest of Souls at Zero). Souls at Zero was essentially the next iteration of Wrathchild America, just with a different name. This topic, plus a track-by-track breakdown of the album, are featured on this episode. Also, the guys on the podcast ask Brad a series of questions submitted by Wrathchild/SAZ fans.

Somewhere in Time Podcast are still finishing up some 1993 albums, and this time they are discussing the debut from Seattle based band, Candlebox. This band may get lumped in with the “grunge” sound because of where they are from, but are they grunge? This is discussed and many more topics, including the fact that their singer never really wanted to be a frontman, and they had a drummer in their band that was in a popular DMV band in the 90’s. 

Somewhere in Time Podcast are kicking 2024 off with a look back at some of their favorite albums of 2023. Among many other bands, albums by Overkill, Mutoid Man, Baroness, and Foo Fighters are discussed. Collectively, the overall favorite by 3/4 of the podcast was 72 Seasons by Metallica, but this album was already covered in a previous episode (go back and listen if you haven’t already!). Instead, the focus is on some of the favorite hard rock and metal albums. Over 20 albums are discussed on this episode, so perhaps you’ll hear something you’ve not heard yet and have some new music to check out!

Somewhere in Time Podcast open 2024 with a couple of leftover albums celebrating 30 and 40 year anniversaries. “Out of Step” by Minor Threat, from 1983, and “In on the Kill Taker” by Fugazi. Keith was the one to bring these two albums to the podcast but seeing that the hosts of Somewhere in Time Podcast are from the D.C. suburbs, it was fitting that these two albums get a proper breakdown on the podcast.

2023 celebrates 50 years of The Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd. Somewhere in Time podcast couldn’t ignore this milestone anniversary and discuss all things Dark Side on this episode. The episode also includes clips from the 2006 documentary, “The Making of The Dark Side of the Moon”. There are behind the scenes moments that include isolated vocals, the meaning behind some of the songs, and how they created some of the synth and voice sounds.

Somewhere in Time Podcast returns for part two of an episode dedicated to two Metallica albums from the past twenty years. “St Anger” from 2003 and “72 Seasons” from 2023. Once again, this episode features a special guest, Fern, from the band Eyes of the Nile. On this extended episode, you’ll hear a track-by-track breakdown of both St. Anger and 72 Seasons. The shuffle button is hit on a playlist featuring every song on both albums, and each song is discussed based on the random order in which it’s played.
